Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have taken over the Ekiti State House of Assembly over rumours of a planned invasion by certain persons.
Quest Times gathered that police officers were at strategic locations in the complex to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
The staff of the assembly were also sighted trooping out of their offices to their respective homes.
Some of the workers who spoke to journalists said there was an order from the Ekiti State Police Headquarters, asking staff to vacate the complex for their own good.
They noted that some people were planning to attack the House of Assembly.
However, the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Chief Gboyega Aribisogan, during a phone call, said there was no crisis in the assembly.
The Ekiti State House of Assembly had on Tuesday during plenary, elected Gboyega Aribisogan as its new Speaker.
Mr Aribisogan represents Ikole Constituency 1.
The new Speaker, who hails from Ijesa-Isu Ekiti, was unanimously elected to replace the former occupant of the position, Funminiyi Afuye, who died on October 19.
Mr Aribisogan, a two-term lawmaker, is from the Ekiti North Senatorial District of the State.
He defeated Olubunmi Adelugba from Emure Constituency to emerge Speaker.
The new Speaker, was until his election, the Chairman, House Committee on Information.
