Two bricklayers and the owner of the house on Friday, drowned inside well water in the Ojoro area, Owode-Ede, Osun State.
The victims are two bricklayers working on the site and the owner of the building identified as Pastor Shina.
It was gathered that the incident happened around 9am when the apprentice attempted to recover a drawer that fell inside the well.
An eyewitness told newsmen that the young apprentice of the bricklayer was fetching water so that they can start work at the site.
“While he was fetching water, the fetching pale fell inside the well. The boy entered the well to recover it but did not come out after some minutes. In a bid to rescue the boy, his master entered the well and could not come out again.
“The owner of the site attempted to rescue them and he also drowned in the well,” an eyewitness revealed.
The spokesperson of Osun State Fire Service, Adekunle Ibrahim, confirmed the incident, saying “we were involved in the rescue of the three people that fell inside the well but they were brought out dead. We have evacuated their corpses.”
