The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi has accused the opposition parties of orchestrating the social media postings suggesting that his supporters are planning a nationwide groundswell protest tagged ‘endINEC’.
Obi, in a statement posted on his verified Twitter account on Friday, distanced himself from the planned protests.
The former Anambra Governor stated publicly that he would reclaim his stolen mandate through the courts and due process.
Despite the concerns many people have about the judiciary, he urged Nigerians to work hard to build resilient and strong institutions.
“My attention has been drawn to social media postings suggesting that a nationwide groundswell “#ENDINEC”, “#ENDNigeria” Protest is being planned by the Obidients. We are aware that those postings are being orchestrated by the opposition.
“My position is clear: Without prejudice to constitutional dictates on freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, I have publicly stated that in the matter of reclaiming our stolen mandate, we shall do so robustly via the Courts and Due Process,” Obi tweeted.
