A video has surfaced on social media showing Nigerian army personnel assaulting an officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Monday, August 14th, 2023, in the Ojota area of Lagos state.
The video captures soldiers physically attacking and beating an unidentified LASTMA official, who can be seen pleading tearfully to be released from their grip.
This incident occurred just a week after a different LASTMA official was caught on camera assaulting a soldier inside a commercial vehicle, commonly known as a ‘Danfo,’ in the Ketu area of the state.
In apparent retaliation for the assault on their colleague, a group of uniformed individuals descended on the Ojota area, subjecting the on-duty LASTMA official to a severe beating.
During the incident, bystanders can be observed fleeing for safety as the military personnel continue to attack the LASTMA official, who desperately pleads for assistance.
