In the early hours of Monday, a helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force crashed in Tami village, situated in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident, which happened around 5:00 am, caused significant alarm among the local residents.
According to eyewitnesses, the helicopter was on a routine operational flight when it experienced technical difficulties, leading to the crash.
Despite the severity of the situation, the pilot was able to carry out emergency protocols effectively, which ensured his survival. Reports from the scene indicate that the pilot emerged from the wreckage with only minor injuries.
Residents of Tami village quickly gathered at the crash site. Many offered help and expressed their relief that the pilot was alive.
One local villager who witnessed the crash said, “We heard a loud noise and rushed to the scene. We were surprised and relieved to see the pilot alive.”
Shortly after the crash, a team of military officers from the Nigerian Air Force arrived at the scene. They secured the area and began an initial investigation.
