Sterling Bank in a viral Easter message on Sunday had compared the resurrection of the biblical Christ with Agege bread, a development that stirred reactions from their followers on social media.
In an email forwarded to its customers over the weekend, Sterling Bank wrote;
“Like Agege Bread, He (Jesus) arose!”

Reacting, some netizens who found the message offensive took to social media to blast the commercial bank over its insensitive post.
In its response, Sterling Bank tendered an apology which many described as “unacceptable and irresponsible PR”.
