Some uniqueness about this producer transcends his excellent ability to piece beautiful tunes together hence, these are some background information about the musician;
Born on January 6th, 1981, in Jos, Plateau State, the music star whose full name is Cobhams Emmanuel Asuquo,grew up in military cantonments in Jos and Lagos, Nigeria.
Asuquo who was born visually impaired after his secondary education, hoped to become a lawyer and build a career that would eventually lead him to the International Court of Justice at The Hague.
Asuquo had joined various debate clubs and always participated in writing competitions, winning both local and state recognition for his gifted talent, during his primary and secondary days.
Some errors made during his admission process jeopardized his entire academic journey, after he decided to further his studies in the University of Lagos. This caused him to drop out in his third year to focus on music.
Asuquo who entertained his neighbours with the song he had composed using whatever object he could use, came into limelight in 2007, when he became publicly known by all as a singer and performer. He went viral after he featured in a Nigerian campus favourite, Mo Like Jesu Gan, by Dekunle Fuji.
Also, he established his first record label and music production business, Cobhams Asuquo Music Production (CAMP), in 2008.
His international fame grew in relation to other Nigerian soul performers, like Asa’s debut album, which has led to multiple Nigerian and foreign musicians collaborating with him. He has a large archive of artistes under his management, including Djinne, Asa, BankyW, Dare Art-Alade, Waje, Timi Dakolo, among others.
Fast track to his love life: the music star is married to the love of his life, Ojuola Asuquo Olukanni, a music producer and singer. They are blessed with two sons.
