Chief Ayo Adebanjo, a chieftain of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has said he does not trust President Muhammadu Buhari to be neutral during the 2023 presidential election.
According to the elder statesman, there is nothing to indicate that President Buhari is showing any degree of dispassion in the outcome of the 2023 election.

Speaking exclusively to QUEST TIMES, the outspoken statesman expressed doubts in Buhari rising above his partisanship and remaining neutral to allow for a fair contest during the 2023 elections.
Adebanjo said “Buhari will not be neutral in this election.”
When pressed further on doubts in President Buhari’s neutrality, he said he will never trust him because he has reneged previous promises.
The Afenifere leader said: “I don’t trust him, especially a Fulani man.”
In an earlier exclusive interview with THE QUEST TIMES, the Afenifere leader had said he warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, that President Buhari wasn’t going to keep his words to him, long before the intrigues and power play that preceded the presidential primary elections of 2022.
When asked about the roles of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Directorate of State Services (DSS), he said they need to raise their games as he fears the resurgence of election-related violence.
According to him, “Those who are not sure of winning will disrupt the elections.”
