Actress Halima Abubakar has spoken about her near-death experience where she was saved from drowning by her senior colleague, Mercy Johnson on the set of a movie.
The incident occurred during a scene where Abubakar was supposed to jump into a pool, but she began to drown moments after entering the water.
The directors and others present initially thought she was acting, but it wasn’t until Mercy Johnson noticed that Abubakar was gasping for air that they realized the seriousness of the situation.
Abubakar expressed her gratitude towards Johnson and the stuntman who helped her out of the pool.
“Almost drowned while filming on set yesterday, but everyone thought I was acting. It dawned on them after some seconds, and I was losing my breath.
‘‘Thanks to Aunty Mercy Johnson and the stuntman who noticed after some seconds and helped me out.” The actress wrote.
