In an exclusive Interview with Quest Times in Abuja on Friday he said ” The news on the fuel subsidy removal wasn’t surprising because since the passage of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) into law I know that the fuel subsidy would be removed. The only thing that came as a shock was the unpreparedness of the government as there are a lot of things they were supposed to put in place in advance before the removal to alleviate the suffering of the public.
” Actually the new price of the fuel product is high to the public but if you look at the template of the NNPC it’s a normal price. It’s only when we go into it for some time that the dynamics of the market will work on a stable price.
” At IPMAN too we’re concerned and want the government to hasten up with these their local refineries production and Dangote refinery too is there. When we have more local refineries the prices of crude oil will naturally go down by the forces of demand and supply in the market.”
He refuted the idea that the fuel subsidy scheme is a fraud.
He also appealed to the federal government to rollout massive palliatives to cushion the effect of hardship on Nigerians as they IPMAN too will play their part to ensure availability of the fuel product nationwide.
