Community leaders in Kaduna, including traditional and religious figures, have on behalf of the bomb survivors, vehemently rejected claims of suing the Federal Government for a purported N33 billion compensation following the tragic bombing incident.
Quest Times gathered that during a press briefing after expressing gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his support, the leaders denounced what they called a “fake and mischievous media statement.”
They accused an unidentified lawyer of attempting to defraud, emphasizing that they never authorized any legal action against the government.
Chief Imam Hashim Jafar clarified, “We appreciate their effort at ensuring the quick recovery of the victims in the hospital and their support to the families and the Tudun Biri. We did not send anybody to sue anyone; whoever is behind it does not have our backing.”
Moreover, Pastor Musa Saidu echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the unity of Christians and Muslims in Tudun Biri, stating, “Collectively, the Christians and the Muslims in Tudun Biri have no idea about any court issue.”
The leaders further expressed gratitude for the government’s support, including food, blankets, and medical treatment for the injured, commending Governor Uba Sani for the ongoing free feeding programme in the aftermath of the tragic incident.
Governor Sani, in response to the leaders’ appreciation, pledged to collaborate with security agencies to identify and prosecute those attempting to defraud the community.
He urged the leaders to question individuals with dubious intentions and demand proper identification.
Furthermore, the governor assured sustained efforts to address the community’s needs, including improved infrastructure like roads, schools, and hospitals.
He emphasized the commitment of his Chief of Staff and the Commissioner for Internal Security in ensuring the community receives the necessary support during this challenging period.
