Two persons have been confirmed dead, while two others were rescued from a three-storey building that collapsed in the Yaba area of Lagos, on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, Zonal Coordinator, Southwest, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos.
Farinloye said that a three-storey building under construction at No. 16 Akanbi crescent, off Adesina Street, Harvey, Sabo, Yaba, collapsed, trapping about five workers.

“Two of them have been rescued alive, but two adult males were recovered dead.
“Search and rescue operations are ongoing,” Farinloye said.
In a related development, one other person was reportedly recovered dead from the ruins of the Yaba collapsed building in the late hours of Saturday.
So far, it is still unclear the number of people trapped in the rubble of the collapsed building.
