The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has disclosed that it would embark on a nationwide strike on the 1st day of February, 2022.
The strike is in response to the planned removal of petrol subsidy by the Buhari-led federal government
The labour union went ahead to warn that the strike may kick-off earlier should the federal government go ahead with the petrol subsidy removal before February 1.
Recall that the federal government announced last year that it would end the subsidy regime this year.
Petrol pump price is expected to soar to as high as N340 per litre when subsidy is no more.
