There was a moment of tension at the Court of Appeal when the judges, in the middle of delivering their decisions, silenced Charles Uwensuyi-Edosomwan, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and legal representative for the All Progressives Congress (APC), due to an interruption.
The proceedings had begun since 9 a.m., after enduring eight long hours of judgment pronouncements by the five-member panel led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, Uwensuyi-Edosomwan spoke up around 5 pm.
He urged the court to be concise and either “dismiss or allow” the petitions brought by the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu of the APC.

However, one of the justices firmly interrupted him, stating, “You don’t have to interrupt judgment; we are delivering judgment, and we are still in the process.” The judge continued, “You don’t have to suggest to us how to deliver judgment.”
Another justice chimed in, questioning, “So, you seriously think that all five of us wouldn’t know that?”
Recognizing his mistake, Uwensuyi-Edosomwan promptly apologized and get back on his seat as the judgment proceedings continued.
