Nigerian movie industry powerhouses Mo Abudu, Ayo Makun, and Funke Akindele have dominated the highest-grossing movie producers’ list in Nigeria, according to Tip Charts Africa.
These acclaimed producers have collectively amassed over N1 billion in movie revenue, solidifying their status as leading figures in the Nigerian film industry.
At the pinnacle of the list stands Mo Abudu, whose films have garnered an impressive N1.59 billion. Following closely behind is the talented actress and producer Funke Akindele, with N1.33 billion. Comedian Ayo Makun takes the third spot with N1.25 billion, further underscoring his influence and success as a movie producer.
Joining them on this prestigious list are Jade Osiberu, with N707 million in movie earnings, and Toyin Abraham, with N564 million. These accomplished individuals have made significant contributions to the Nigerian film landscape, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
In addition to their remarkable individual achievements, the highest-grossing Nollywood movies of all time also make an appearance on the charts. Funke Akindele’s Omo Ghetto The Saga claims the top spot, solidifying its position as a record-breaking film.
Mo Abudu’s The Wedding Party, The Wedding Party 2, Chief Daddy, and Your Excellency feature prominently, securing the second, third, fourth, and tenth spots, respectively. Ayo Makun’s Christmas In Miami, Merry Men 1, and Merry Men 3 also make a notable impact, ranking sixth, eighth, and ninth on the list.
Expressing his delight on Instagram, Ayo Makun shared the joy of being recognized among such esteemed women in the industry. The movie star emphasized that being the best is a personal choice, while also acknowledging that great shows and successful movies are products of deliberate decisions.
