Dr. Mansur Nagoda, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Hospitals Management Board, has approved the immediate removal of Chief Medical Directors from three hospitals and their replacement.
Additionally, all doctors and nurses on duty during the evening and night shifts on Sunday, July 30, 2023, have been suspended.
The decision was taken urgently in response to the negligence of the affected staff, who abandoned their duty posts, leaving patients in the hands of students.

The Board emphasizes zero tolerance for negligence, late-coming, or absconding from duty posts, warning of strict sanctions in line with civil service rules and regulations.
Dr. Nagoda calls on other hospitals to enhance their operations, as all facilities will be closely monitored to revitalize the state’s health sector. The changes aim to ensure improved healthcare services in Kano State.
