President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mohammad Isa to the position of Senior Special Assistant on Disability Matters.
The announcement came from the State House in Abuja on Thursday, as conveyed by the Special Adviser to the President, Media & Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale. This appointment reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring that every segment of society receives adequate attention as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.
The statement also highlighted that the new SSA is a renowned advocate for people with disabilities, boasting more than a decade of experience in local and international advocacy for disability-related issues.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the new presidential aide is a graduate with honors in Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri. In 2017, he went on to earn a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the same institution.
Additionally, Ngelale emphasized that the President has tasked the new appointee with the proactive creation of opportunities for inclusion. This includes incorporating the requirements and perspectives of persons with disabilities into the policies and programs of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Government.
The new SSA will also work closely with sub-national authorities to establish a national consensus on disability-friendly policies and environmental conditions in collaboration with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).
