According to the Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, front-runner Bola Tinubu slept through the peace accord signing ceremony which held in Abuja, the nation’s capital city, on Friday, January 20.
The meeting was organised by the National Peace Committee.
Sowore wrote on Twitter: “We just returned from a meeting of party leaders/Presidential candidates with the national peace committee in Abuja, the Presidential candidate of The @OfficialAPCNg , @officialABAT slept through the meeting, he didn’t say a word. His party chair spoke on his behalf.”
Under the leadership of former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, the committee had met with the leadership of the 18 registered political parties and their presidential candidates.
The meeting was organised to ensure proper conduct of the candidates, their parties and other stakeholders, especially during the campaigns ahead of the elections. Tinubu had missed previous peace accord meetings, much to the chagrin of social media users.

On the campaign trail, 70-year-old Tinubu has had to battle frequent allegations that his health is failing him, since he announced his presidential bid in January of 2022. He has also gifted skit-makers, comedians and the general public gaffes and goofs for days, as he looks every bit his age.
Opposition elements continue to insist that Tinubu’s frequent travels abroad are health related, and that he now lacks the cerebral or physical mettle to govern a nation with multifarious challenges.

Tinubu has repeatedly insisted that he isn’t running for a wrestling championship belt or a physical joust, and that he’s as fit as a fiddle to govern.
He has also told anyone who cares to listen that he isn’t suffering from dementia, cognitive dissonance, Parkinson’s, urinary incontinent or any ailment that naturally afflicts senior citizens
