An unspecified number of construction workers are reportedly trapped in the Yaba area of mainland Lagos on Saturday, February 12, 2022, following the collapse of a three-storey building.
The building, said to be under construction at the time of the collapse, is located at 16 Akanbi Crescent, off Adesina Street, Harvey, Sabo Yaba, a short distance from the main entrance of the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Eyewitness accounts said the construction workers were at their various duty posts when the building collapsed on them.

However, two of them were rescued from the rubble immediately after the incident occurred in the afternoon.
Rescue operations are ongoing at the time of filing this report.
The Saturday incident occurred barely three months after a 21-storey building collapsed in the Ikoyi area of Lagos, killing many people.
