A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Nigeria Ambassador to Jordan, Faruk Malami Yabo, has decamped from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto state.
Malami, who was one of APC’s governorship aspirants in the race for the 2023 governorship ticket in Sokoto, was also the gubernatorial candidate in the 2019.
While addressing a mammoth crowd on Thursday in Sokoto, he said, “I feel relief leaving my former party to join people of like minds in moving our state forward.
“This decision was not mine alone but, it became the best option for us, in retrospect of our commitment and investment in APC. I therefore enjoined my supporters across the state to see reason with us and move en masse into PDP.”
Reacting, Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, commended the former Ambassador for his wise decision to return to the party, saying he took the bold decision in the interest of the party and the people of the state.
