The governor of Taraba State, Darius Dickson Ishaku, has once more urged parents, guardians, and religious leaders to caution their wards against acting as thugs for overzealous politicians.
Ishaku stated that “no human blood is worth spilling for the aim of attaining political power” when he issued the warning on Tuesday in the state.
He urged lawmakers, particularly those running for office in the upcoming general elections, to follow the rules of the game and declared that his administration will work with security personnel to find any individual or group attempting to undermine the state’s current state of calm.
He urged Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the upcoming election was transparent and credible.
He charged eligible voters who have not yet collected their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to do so, expressing his conviction that the dream of choosing trustworthy leaders is attainable.
He also urged religious authorities to take their time and pray for a smooth general election in the state and across the nation.
