Key stakeholders in Southern Kaduna have thrown their weights behind the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi ahead of the 2023 elections.
The stakeholders also endorsed the LP gubernatorial candidate, Jonathan Asake, as the next governor of Kaduna state.
They also promised to give the duo block votes in the 2023 general elections.
They gave this endorsement during a sensitisation rally and meeting held in Kafanchan the headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna on Saturday.

According to them, Mr Obi is the best candidate for the presidential seat adding that the former Anambra state governor has the capacity to rescue Nigeria from its security and socioeconomic challenges.
They accused the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, of never showing empathy to them despite the series of attacks in the area.
According to Asake, who is the former President of Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), the endorsement is a loud statement of the mood of the people in southern Kaduna who are yearning for a more responsive, empathic, and humane leadership that will tackle challenges facing the zone and Kaduna in general.
The group also embarked on a door-to-door campaign to mobilise voters for the party with determination to pass their verdict on the type of government and representatives they expect to see at the helm of affairs from May 29, 2023.

QUEST TIMES recalls that the Governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai had endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2023 election.
The endorsement of the Southern Kaduna leaders for the LP candidate, some analysts think, comes as a shock to the APC presidential ambition in the state.
