The Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu has pledged to build a knowledge-based economy as he hosts members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party at his campaign secretariat in Abuja.
This is coming shortly after his running mate said he will be handling security matters while his principal will tackle the economy, a development that stirred mixed reactions on social media.
“I have been in the theatre of conflicts for 18 years, I will lead the troops, my principal is an economy wizard who has transformed Lagos into the third largest economy in Africa. He will concentrate on the economy.

“By God’s grace, I will handle the security, and not only handle the security, I will lead the troops to battle across the length and breadth of this country,” Kashim Shettima said at the NBA annual conference in Lagos.
Speaking during his meeting with NWC of the APC, Tinubu said; “Our party (APC) is very honoured and I know you (referring to the NWC) as a disciplinarian committed to ethics, values, and fundamentals of democracy.
“We will work with you. We share knowledge and we will develop Nigeria as a knowledge-based economy that sees the future; 21st-century education, 21st-century financial reforms, 21st-century infrastructural development, and 21st-century elimination of crimes…”
