Wike made the declaration while speaking in Kogi Wednesday, during his consultation visit to Yahaya Bello at the Lugard House, Lokoja ahead of the presidential primaries of the People Democratic Party, PDP.
“My purpose of coming is part of my consultations to speak to the delegates who will be voting on the 28 and 29 of May the flagbearer to change some of the problems we are having in the country.
“I want to commend you for what you have been doing, especially your doggedness in youth involvement in politics,” Wike said.
In his response, Governor Yahaya Bello appreciated Wike for “acknowledging his quest to mentor and tutor the younger generation” while commending his “giant strides” in the State.
“You can see what we have been able to do in terms of infrastructure in the State. Before now, there used to be rancour but APC, PDP, and other political parties are co-habiting and living in peace with one another,” Yahaya Bello said.
He also noted that he was in the race to be able to build on the successes and achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that despite the sabotage from within and outside, while also assuring that his leadership as the president of the country would sustain the momentum.
He appreciated the governor for his respect and appreciation of the president despite the challenges faced by the country adding that he was certain the People’s Democratic Party ticket hopeful would throw his weight behind him in support of the younger generation’s desire to lead the nation.
