The Federal Government has lashed out at the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar over his recent comment on the performance of the present administration.
Atiku had during his campaign in Akure said that President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has done nothing for Nigerians in its eight years in office.
But speaking at the seventh edition of the Administration’s Scorecard in Abuja on Monday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said Atiku may be unaware of what is going on in Nigeria since he now resides in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The PMB Administration Scorecard series was launched in October to highlight the achievements of the federal government.
The minister noted that Atiku is in forefront of some presidential candidates whose tendencies are to downplay the achievements of the present administration in their desperation for power, ahead of the 2023 elections.
According to him, “The worst offender in this regard has been the presidential candidate of the PDP, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

“During his recent campaign in Akure, the former VP was quoted as saying the APC had not done anything for Nigeria in eight years. What a preposterous statement from somebody who should know.
“I guess we can excuse His Excellency, the former Vice President, who, until recently, had fully relocated to Dubai, thus losing touch with Nigeria,” he said.
Mohammed further highlighted some of the achievements of the federal government in the areas of security and social employment in Adamawa, the home state of the former vice president.
