Ada Ameh, a popular face and name in Nigeria’s movie industry, is dead, aged 48.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, (AGN), Emeka Rollas, confirmed Ameh’s death to reporters.
She reportedly died on Sunday, July 17, at an NNPC hospital in Warri, Delta State, after initially slumping in her home.
Reports say she was rushed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s (NNPC) hospital but passed on before she was ushered into the facility.
Ameh has played a key/leading role in a myriad soaps and movies. She played the role of Anita in the movie ‘Domitilla’ in 1996 and ‘Phone Swap.’
She is also famous for her comic characters, especially in the series ‘The Johnsons.’
Ameh was born on May 15, 1974 in Ajegunle, Lagos State.
The actress shared a video of herself on her Instagram page dining with her family around 12:53pm on Sunday, shortly before her death.
Ameh lost her only child, aged 30, in October of 2020, following an unsuccessful surgery.
Only recently, Ameh took to the media to disclose that she’s been battling depression, while calling on kind-hearted Nigerians to come to her aid.
She also disclosed that the depression got worse after she lost her daughter.
