Following the death of a 12-year-old female student of Christland School, Whitney Adeniran last week in Lagos, many social media users have continued to share their opinions regarding the sad incident.
The Quest Times had reported that Whitney died during the school’s inter-house sports competition at Agege Stadium in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria on Thursday.
Some of those who reacted expressed grievances noting that children are not safe in schools.
@tonia.gram said, “It is funny even after all these people will still carry their kids to the school and even enrol them there. And when something tragic happens to their child they would come here and start seeking justice. It’s well.
On her part @tipsybaby said “It is literally so simple TAKE YOUR KIDS OUT OF THE SCHOOL!!! they not gonna shutdown because the school owners have connections but for your own and your kids safety just take them out.”
@Ucheelendu said ” children are not safe in Nigerian Schools because this is becoming too much in Nigeria, you guys are our voices. the school should be held responsible.”
Also @express_rey posited ” that’s my issue right now. If every parent pull out their children from the school, Christland will have no choice than to shutdown.”
Another Instagram user @dchinelo stressed ” in fact any parents that leave their children at Christland is a mistake on their part. Whatever comes out of it they should face it alone and stop disturbing our peace.”
@thesouvenirwhisperer noted ” a parent narrated how she had to pulled out her child because the teachers are negligent. The little todlers are left unattended to, isn’t this same school where a toddler was molested? You need to read what the school subject the parents to . The emotional rollercoaster and lies told till justice prevailed.
According to the poster, Change begins with accountability, when will this stop? How many more children will this happen to? A child was electrocuted and you poured water on her and told the parents she had an underlying ailment and cardiac arrest? CHRISTLAND!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
@chikin_money wrote ” if no be say they tie una destiny to christland school una for don comot una children. Isn’t the last one enough evidence to withdraw your child?
Also @shittuiwalola said “Really sad, may we not bury our children in Jesus Name. Christland and the team that organised the interhousesport event must be held accountable for the avoidable lost of life.
More social media users have continued to pour out their views about the incident at the time of filing this report.
