Barely a week after the Warri-Itakpe train derailed into a forest in Kogi State, the Abuja-Kaduna train has just suffered a similar fate, Vanguard newspaper is reporting.
As at the time of filing this report, there is scant information on where the train derailed into. Other reports say the derailment occurred in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
It is unclear at this point if there are any casualties.
According to the newspaper, the Manager, Abuja-Kaduna Train Service, Mr. Pascal Nnoli, has confirmed the accident.
Quest Times did try to reach Mr Fidet Okhiria, Director General of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), but he neither picked his calls nor replied text messages on the development before this story was published.

The Abuja-Kaduna train is only just re-opening for service after terrorists struck the route last year and abducted over 63 passengers.
Train derailment in Nigeria is often caused by vandals who steal rail track components for sale in the metal black market.
