The National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore has debunked the speculations that the ruling party feels threatened by the deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for 2023 general elections.
There have been several reports quoting APC chieftains alluding to the party’s mortal fears of the use of technology by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2023 elections.

Speaking to Quest Times exclusively when the National Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially presented the New Register of Voters to the 18 political parties in Nigeria for 2023 General Elections on Wednesday, he said “We don’t have grudges with INEC deployment of the BVAS. We only tasked them to ensure that the machine is working effectively.”
In November 2022, the APC had kicked against INEC’s decision to deploy the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System BVAS and the INEC Results Viewing Portal IReV, saying Nigeria is not ripe for the use of such technology.
Speaking on the number of voters’ registration, he expressed satisfaction with the raising population of the masses registering to vote for general elections.
He said “What I discovered with the voters registration is that the expectation of Nigerians in registering for PVCs keeps raising from 2011, 2015, 2019 and till date with a figure of 93,469,008.”
Senator Omisore applauded the INEC for the presentation the new voters’ registration while assuring the public that APC is ready for the forthcoming elections and will work to ensure free and fair elections.
