The official presentation of Senator Kashim Shettima as the Vice-Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general election has been suspended.
Shettima, whose candidacy has been met with stiff opposition due to a Muslim-Muslim ticket, was scheduled to be presented to party members on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the ruling party’s National Secretariat, but the Chairman of the APC Press Corps announced that the event had been pushed forward.
The Press Corp chairman said the directive for the postponement was given by the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Barr Festus Fuanter, stating that a new date will be communicated in due course.
No reason has been given for the postponement of the event.
