APC’S KAWU DECLARED WINNER OF CONTESTED HOUSE OF REPS SEAT IN KANO AS TRIBUNAL SACKS NNPP’S CANDIDATE
The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kano State, on Thursday nullified the election of Mukthar Umar Yarima of the New Nigerian Peoples Party ( NNPP) for the House of Representatives.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Yarima the winner of the Tarauni Federal Constituency election during the Federal 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections.

But Hafizu Kawu of the All Progressive Congress (APC)Â dragged the lawmaker to court, claiming that the NNPP candidate was not qualified to contest for the poll.
THE QUEST TIMES gathered that the tribunal during its judgment on Thursday held that there was no primaries at Tarauni NNPP federal constituency, and also there was inconsistency between the name he submitted to INEC and that of his primary school leaving certificate.
According to information obtained by THE QUEST TIMES, the tribunal ruled on Thursday that there were no primaries held by the party NNPP.
The court, therefore, declared the runner-up in the February 25, 2023, National Assembly, Hafizu Kawu of the APC, the winner.
