The Appeal Court, sitting in Abuja has confirmed the victory of Bala Mohammed as the duly elected governor of the state, in the Bauchi State Governorship election, conducted in March 18th.
Quest Times gathered that the panel which constituted three justices unanimously affirmed Mohammed’s victory, hence, awarding no cost as the court ruled that each party to the matter should bear their costs.
Recall, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Mohammed of the PDP as the winner of the election.
Although, the declaration was challenged by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Sadique Abubakar, who approached the governorship election petition tribunal, challenging the victory.
Following this, the Chairman of the three-man panel, P T. Kwahar, in his judgment, affirmed the victory of Mohammed, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
Abubakar, who was not satisfied with the tribunal’s judgment, then, proceeded to file a petition at the Court of Appeal challenging the decision of the lower court.
