Just 51 days to the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, two more top members of All Progressives Congress (APC) Hon. Hassan Adamu Shekarau and Zanna Ali have quit the Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu campaign team.
The Quest Times had earlier reported about an APC bigwig in Niger state, Former Ambassador Ahmed Ibeto who resigned yesterday Tuesday citing internal crisis and unending litigations within the party.
Hon. Shekarau is a former federal lawmaker in Kaduna state, Ali is a chieftain of the party and a member of the Directorate of Youth Mobilisation, North-East.
Shekarau who represented Birnin Gwari/Giwa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives conveyed his resignation in a letter dated January 3, 2023.
He cited personal reasons for leaving the party.
According to the letter, “This is to convey to you my decision to resign as a member of the All Progressives Congress with effect from 3rd January, 2023.”
As at the time of filing this report, the former lawmaker has yet to disclosed his next party.
On his part, Ali said his decision was based on the inability of the ruling party to present a credible presidential candidate as contained in his resignation letter on January 1, 2023.
