Prince Bola Ajibola, former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, died at the age of 89.
According to a family source who verified his death to The QuestTimes, the former minister died in the early hours of Sunday.
“Asalamaleikun. With very deep heart and gratitude to Almighty Allah… Our Dad Prince Bola Ajibola departed this world over the midnight,” the family source wrote.
“May Almighty Allah bless him with Aljanah firdaus.”
Ajibola served as Minister of Justice under General Ibrahim Babangida’s military regime from 1985 until 1991.
He was a judge of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands, from 1991 until 1994.
From 1999 until 2002, Ajibola served as Nigeria’s high commissioner to the United Kingdom.
He also had a one-year tenure as the president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
He was the founder of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun state.
Ajibola’s death comes seven years after Olufunmilayo, his wife, died in London.
