The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has rejected appeals by the Federal Government to call off its strike.

The Union made this announcement via its Twitter handle when it denied insinuations that it may have called off its strike after the latest intervention of the Federal Government.

According to the Union, the strike still continues until all its demands are met by the Nigerian government.

The Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC) co-chaired by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar and the Christian Association of Nigeria’s president, Dr. Supo Ayokunle, on Thursday, could not persuade ASUU members to return to the classrooms while negotiations were ongoing to meet their demands.
