Fresh details have emerged over a recent incident involving Veronica Anyim, a woman accused by the senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja, Paul Enenche, of providing false testimony at the church.
In a video that went viral on Sunday, Enenche challenged the credibility of Anyim’s testimony, specifically questioning her claim of graduating with a “BSc in Law” from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). He interrupted her testimony, asserting that she did not sound like a Law graduate and abruptly asked her to leave the pulpit.
The controversy stirred memories of NOUN’s suspension of admissions into its Law programme in 2016 due to issues with the Council for Legal Education.
Despite this, investigations by PUNCH revealed that Anyim had indeed graduated from NOUN with a law degree.
Sources within the Registrar’s office at NOUN confirmed Anyim’s graduation, clarifying that it’s possible for students to complete their studies even after the suspension of a program. They cited reasons such as deferred admission and the program’s flexibility.
Further evidence supporting Anyim’s credentials came from her Facebook page, where she identified herself as a police officer and expressed gratitude for her graduation in a post dated April 13, 2024.
Her post read, “And it came to pass yesterday 13th April being Saturday, 2024 at National Open University Abuja. Father, I am saying thank you for making me Graduate from my Law programme. Congratulations to me once again. Two Celebrations just for me in this month of April my birthday. You’re too faithful to fail me. Friends join me and thank Him for all he has done for me. Thank you Jesus hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah Amen.”
