Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Morenikeji Adeleke, popularly known as Egbin Orun, has passed away. The sad news was shared by her colleague, Esther Igbekele, through an Instagram post late Saturday.
Expressing her sorrow, Igbekele, known on Instagram as @estherigbekele, described Egbin Orun as a “beautiful and kind-hearted woman” who always supported her. Igbekele reminisced about their conversation just a week ago, unaware that Egbin Orun would soon depart from this world.
Her post read, “I got home from my programme to hear about this great loss. Prophetess Morenikeji Egbin Orun you left without saying goodbye.
“We spoke together last week not knowing you are about to embark on a journey to the great beyond. You are such a beautiful and kind-hearted woman and a very good supporter of my ministry.
“I am deeply saddened at your demise but God knows best. You will be greatly missed and your good deeds will continue to linger in our hearts.”
Igbekele added with teary emojis, “Ah Egbin Orun. Good night! Keep resting in the bosom of Christ. Ah Gone too soon. .Yeeee.”
In another post via her Instagram handle early Sunday, Igbekele wrote, “You will be greatly missed Morenikeji Egbin Orun. May your soul find eternal rest. We love you but God loves you more. Heaven has just gained an angel. Happy you always.”
Despite the outpouring of grief and tributes, the cause of Egbin Orun’s death remains undisclosed. Neither the family of the deceased nor the Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria has released an official statement regarding her passing at the time of this report.
