The Supreme Court of Nigeria has affirmed Bassey Otu’s victory as the Governor of Cross River State. This follows the earlier decisions of the Appeal Court and the Election Petition Tribunal that also supported Otu’s election.
Recall, Otu, running as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, secured a total of 258,619 votes, winning 15 out of the 18 LGAs in the state.
His closest rival, Senator Sandy Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), gathered 179,636 votes. This led to Otu’s declaration as the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
