The Bayana Bayana of South Africa have made history after beating hosts Morocco to emerge winners of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The match ended 2-1 in favour of the South African side.
This is the first time South Africa is lifting the continental trophy.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Super Falcons lost 1-0 to Zambia in the WAFCON Third Place clash played prior to the final.
Zambia clinched 3rd while South Africa and hosts Morocco garnished 1st and 2nd in the competition.
