President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday sworn in Senator George Akume as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Akume took his Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office in the present of government officials at the council chamber.
The former Minister of Interior took his oath of allegiance and oath of office at about 11:06 am in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.
Vice President Kashim Shettima; President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan; Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr FolasadeYemi-Esan and the spouse of the new SGF, Mrs Regina Akume, were among those present at the swearing-in.
President Bola Tinubu had named George Akume Secretary to the Government of the Federation(SGF).
Mr Akume, a former governor of Benue State, is the immediate past minister of special duties in the administration of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.
