The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has identified some of its officials snuck into the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 elections.
QUEST TIMES has exclusively gotten the names of CAN members who were smuggled into the presidential campaign of Bola Tinubu, the APC candidate.

Some of the national officers of CAN on the list include Abiodun Sanyaolu, (Assistant General Secretary), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, (Director of National Issues, and Social welfare), and Barrister Comfort Chiqbue (Director of Legal issues and Public Affairs).
These officers, QUEST TIMES gathered, have about two weeks remaining for them to serve in the National Body of the association.
Some ex-CAN officers on the list are Dr. Testimony Onifade, Barrister Samuel Kwankor, Dr. Victor Ivoke, and Dr. Para-Mallam.
Para-Mallam on Friday said neither he nor his wife, Prof. Funmi Para-Mallam, was aware of their nomination as members of the PCC as their consent was not sought.

The president of the association, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, had earlier expressed shock over the inclusion of some members of CAN in the PCC.
The CAN President in a statement on Thursday, exonerated himself from such political involvement, insisting that those involved are not working on behalf of CAN but themselves.
He said: “My attention as President of CAN has been drawn to the revised list of members of the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Presidential Campaign Council wherein the names of some outgoing officials of the body were featured.
“Such a development is worrisome because it counters the well-known stance of CAN on partisanship. I want to categorically exonerate my humble self from this development and any of such that may occur in the future.”
The Christian body has consistently maintained its opposition to the APC’s Muslim-Muslim in the build-up to the 2023 general elections.

QUEST TIMES understands that it is likely that some persons on the list could be punished as the CAN President is said to be investigating the matter. Efforts to reach some of the names were futile at press time.
