Leah Sharibu, the young girl who was held captive by members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has reportedly entered into a new marriage with another terrorist commander.
According to a report by Daily Trust, this shocking development comes after Leah supposedly secured a divorce from her first ‘husband,’ whom she was forcibly married to, according to local security sources.
Leah’s tragic story began when she was abducted along with more than 100 of her schoolmates from Government Girls Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State, on February 19, 2018. Several years ago, reports surfaced that she had been married off.
Reports revealed that after her alleged divorce from Abdulrahman, Leah has now remarried another ISWAP commander named Ali Abdallah, who operates in the Lake Chad area.
An insider disclosed, “Leah was initially married to Abdulrahman after her purported conversion to Islam, and they had two sons named after two deceased Boko Haram commanders. However, the circumstances surrounding her divorce and subsequent marriage to Ali Abdallah remain unclear.”
Following her abduction, Leah was reportedly trained in providing medical services to injured Boko Haram fighters and women, a tactic frequently employed by terrorists in the North East. These captives, with expertise in various fields, are compelled to train new members.
