The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Senate has confirmed the roles of the four newly appointed deputy governors — Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro, Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, Mr. Philip Ikeazor, and Dr. Bala M. Bello.
Clarifying their responsibilities, Mr. Olalekan Ajayi from the CBN’s Corporate Communication Department relayed that Bala Bello will manage corporate services, while Mohammed Sani will oversee economic policy. Philip Ikeazor will assume the role of deputy governor in charge of financial system stability (FSS), and Emem Usoro is tasked with operations.
The Senate confirmation follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval of Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso as the new Governor of the CBN, along with the four deputy governors, on September 15, 2023.
