The Federal Government has asked the Supreme Court to dismiss a suit filed by three state governments challenging the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s naira redesign policy.
The governments of Zamfara, Kaduna, and Kogi have petitioned the Supreme Court to stop the Federal Government’s naira redesign programme.
According to them, the policy has brought untold hardship on the citizens.
The Supreme Court few hours ago ordered the suspension of the policy and adjourned the case to February 15.
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami on behalf of the Federal government, filed a preliminary objection to challenge the suit, calling on the Supreme court to dismiss the suit.
