Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has leapt to 71st position on the world’s richest persons list, having remained Africa’s richest person for the past eleven years, according to latest data from Bloomberg’s Billionaires’ Index.
He was 97th in January this year, meaning he moved 27 places in April.
From the list, Elon Musk (Twitter CEO) is currently the richest man in the world with a total net worth of $257B followed by Jeff Bezos ($170B); Bernard Arnault ($136B), and Bill Gates ($127B), among others.

Aliko Dangote’s major source of wealth comes from his cement company, Dangote Cement, where he controls 86 per cent stake.
His wealth is now estimated to be worth over $20.4 billion, the data says.
He is the only African billionaire to make the 100 lists of the 500 richest people in the world.
