Nigerian Omonoia Nicosia goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, says playing against his boyhood club Manchester United at Old Trafford, was a “dream come true” for him.
Uzoho started for the visitors against Manchester United in the Europa League with a display of excellent goalkeeping that set social media ablaze on Thursday night.
The Nigerian goalie faced 34 shots from Erik ten Hag’s men, and made 12 saves.
Uzoho was only beaten by Scott McTominay’s effort in the 93rd minute.
After the game, he tweeted: “Today my dream came through (true).
“Old Trafford, I will never forget tonight.
“GGMU. IN CHRIST ALONE.”
The result leaves Omonoia bottom of Group E with no points, while United are second with nine points, three behind Real Sociedad.
Notwithstanding the loss by Neil Francis Lennon’s men, the 23-year-old was the talking point and enthusiasts have summoned the English Premier League outfit to sign Uzoho as a replacement for the Spain international.
