The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has released the time table for its schedule of activities in view of the upcoming Edo State governorship election.
The National Working Committee disclosed this in a statement signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, who released the time table on Thursday, after a joint meeting of the Board of Trustees and National Executive Committee of the party, at its headquarters in Abuja.
The timetable noted that the party’s congress is where its governorship candidate will emerge, slated to hold February 22nd, 2024.
Quest Times gathered that the aspirants who are interested in contesting the governorship election will get the nomination form for N21 million, while youths aged between 25 and 30 will be offered a 50 percent discount on the nomination form fees.
Also, the schedule of activities on the time table shows that registration of old and new members will begin between November 16th and December 7th.
While December 14th is the last date for the submission of ward register to the Directorate of Organisation and Mobilisation, stakeholders’ consultative meeting with the National Working Group will start between December 19th and 20th.
Additionally, the sales of expression of interest and ad-hoc forms for all offices is booked for January 10-16, while January 17th is the last day for the submission of already completed expression of interest and ad-hoc forms.
The National Working Committee will begin screening aspirants interested in the governorship seat on January 18th, 2024.
Likewise, the sales of nomination forms to aspirants who completed and submitted their expression of interest form is slated for January 19- 25, while January 27th is the last date for the submission of already completed nomination form.
Hence, February 22nd is for the governorship primary, while February 24th is for the appeal on the governorship primary.
