The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested six senior officers from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) regarding an alleged N6 billion fraud case. The officials are currently undergoing intense questioning at the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.
The NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, issued the directive for the officers to be handed over to the EFCC.
Although specific details of the investigation remain unclear, insiders, speaking on condition of anonymity, disclosed that EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede previously penned a letter to the NSCDC CG, requesting the release of the officers for interrogation.
Sources familiar with the matter stated, “Six senior NSCDC officers are presently under our custody, facing interrogation for purported fraudulent activities amounting to over N6 billion.”
Confirming the development, another source clarified, “The EFCC has not detained the NSCDC CG, nor is he under investigation. We only have six senior NSCDC officers in our custody, being probed for alleged involvement in the N6 billion fraud.”
