In a distressing incident at the Army estate in Kurudu, kidnappers struck on Thursday night, abducting the wife and two in-laws of Barrister Cyril Adikwu.
Having narrowly escaped the ordeal himself, Adikwu revealed that the kidnappers, numbering about eight, swiftly left the estate after the abduction, traversing a bush path.
Adikwu, now grappling with the traumatic aftermath, shared, “I was called to provide a ransom, I don’t want to mention the amount because already false information is everywhere in the media about the whole incident, but I can assure you it’s more than 30 million. The kidnappers have been calling me and have given me a time frame.”
Quest Times also gathered that efforts are underway to rescue the victims, with estate management and security agencies collaborating closely.
An unnamed estate official assured, “We are working with security agencies to see that they are rescued unhurt.”
Moreover, security forces, including the military and police, have intensified their operations to apprehend the culprits in and around the nation’s capital.
This follows the recent arrest of a suspected kidnapper, Chinaza Phillip, handed over to the FCT police command by the Kaduna State police.
