Labaran Maku, the former Minister of Information, faced an unexpected setback on Wednesday as he lost his cellphone within the premises of the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
Maku, who had joined fellow politicians from Nasarawa state in support of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate, David Ombugada, found himself in distress after his attempts to recover the phone proved futile.
Despite the efforts of Maku’s supporters and aides to locate the missing phone, it remained elusive. Several attempts to ring the device were made in hopes of tracing it, but unfortunately, the phone could not be found before Maku left the court premises.
The incident occurred amidst the backdrop of the Nasarawa governorship election tribunal’s decision to nullify Governor Abdullahi Sule’s election, favoring Ombugadu. However, the political tension escalated as Sule, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), contested the tribunal’s verdict.
The three-member panel of justices, led by Justice U. Onyemenam, reserved judgment on Wednesday, with the date for the final decision yet to be communicated to the involved parties.
